Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

What was your inspiration?

I came across this beautiful pattern by Sunset Crochet and Quilt.
I wanted to make this quilt for my little 5 month old granddaughter who had just began to roll onto her tummy so I thought that this would encourage her and she would also be able to finger and chew the petals on the quilt.

What are you most proud of?

When I watch my little granddaughter have fun with something I have made for her.
Also I am very pleased with my quilted petal shapes:)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose lots of colours, have fun with it and hand quilting is best as thick batting is needed because it is used as a playmat.

I just bought this pattern. May I say (as one who teaches) that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Your pattern would be very easy to follow with an illustration for each set of instructions.

I bought this pattern too... it is not my pattern and yes I agree that pictures do help when following a pattern. That is why I love Crafsty classes with the visually aided tutorials.

Aw this is a great pattern and you will enjoy making it. Just work with bright colours and it will be fun. The only tedious bit is sewing on the center of the flower by hand but is def worth the effort.

This quilt is absolutely lovely! These flowers have a fragrance all their own called ' 'love from the heart' I can just imagine the fun this baby will have picking her flowers! Truly how beautiful. Your soul shines through your garden. What fun!
