I loved how lining the dress in similar weight cotton gave it great structure. The sizing runs smaller than our current retail sizes. So be sure to measure and follow corresponding size on pattern. My tiny waisted daughter needed a size 10! She usually is a size 4 or 6.Difficulty:

Materials
Easter colored cotton polka dot print. And jacket is a cotton eyelet.
What was your inspiration?
I made it for my daughter's birthday. She loves retro looking dresses, and the spring colored polk-a-dot fabric reminded me of her. I made the matching jacket so she could wear the dress to school and still be "covered" per dress code.
What are you most proud of?
The fit is flawless! This dress has couture elements, underlining, hand sewn rolled hems, and special weighted hem treatment. The jacket has every seam either encased in bias binding or french seamed. I had to alter the pattern to make it like this, and was quite pleased with my work.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Taking the time to mark seam allowances and darts very carefully helped to give great fit, without any struggles. The pattern is relatively straight forward, and easily altered. I think it would make a great beginner project.
