Bead Embroidered Cuff. 2" cuff embroidered with glass seed beads, coin beads, crackle beads and antiqued brass medallion. Free form bead work centerpiecing antiqued brass flower medallion. Accented in Springtime hues of green, orange, and purple. Lined with ultrasuede for comfortable fit. I named it Viviane after one of my favorite characters in the Mists of Avalon series. It reminds me of her strength, the circle of life, and wisdom.
What was your inspiration?
I love working with the colors in this piece; greens, orange and purple. Along with the rich brown color of brass, it reminds me of Springtime. A time of new beginning, new life coming from old.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of learning and experimenting with various beading techniques.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The great thing about a project like this is the free-form technique. I like to start out with a focal point and my color scheme chosen before I start something like this. Once I begin to work it up, the piece takes on a life of its own. You never know exactly what you will end up with until you're finished, usually it's a great surprise! Relax and have fun. Let your creative side lead you.
