What was your inspiration?
A chicken doorstop that I made many, many years ago (see the additional photo).
What are you most proud of?
The simplicity of the design and the ease with which it went together. This is another mug rug pattern that will work in all different colourways and uses up some of those scraps we hate to throw away.
I have made it counry but it would look good in modern colourways too - this is a versatile little pattern.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
You will spend more time choosing fabrics than you will making this mug rug. I quilted around the chicken but not the eggs because I prefer this look. You could add ribbon trim to the eggs or fussy cut them for a truly unique look.
