What was your inspiration?
The Old Rectory in a nearby village housed The Danish Embroidery Centre back in the '70s, where it was possible to see beautiful completed embroideries made from Eva Rosenstand and Clara Waever kits. There were loads of kits available and I bought several of them, of which this is one by Eva Rosenstand. I completed several others, but still have more stashed away in a cupboard - will I live long enough to finish everything I've got, I ask myself? Mmmm ... I wonder ...
What are you most proud of?
Eventually finishing it! It was unfinished for many years and I picked it up and did a bit now and then at long spaced-out intervals until I finally got around to completing the embroidery and constructing the bell-pull, comparatively recently, many years later.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Even though I bought this kit in the '70s (but only finished recently), it's still available via the internet. Start in the middle and keep going - you'll get there in the end!
