Crochet cotton size 10, in 400 yd. (365 m) balls - light ecru (5-8 balls), and small amounts of lavender and light green; a size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook; and 1/2" round buttons (8-10).
What was your inspiration?
I wanted to create a cardigan that had interest on both the front and back.
What are you most proud of?
I try to avoid sewing projects together whenever possible! I was able to work this out so the only seam needed is the sleeve seam. I am also very happy with the way the motif at the top of the back worked out.
I liked the calm subtle design of this so much, I took a picture to use as the background on my computer!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is an easy to intermediate thread crochet project. The body is worked from the bottom up. The motifs on the bottom edge are worked in a connect-as-you-go technique, and the body of the cardigan is worked all the way around from the motifs up. The sleeves are added on and crocheted from the top down. Detailed charts are also included for reference for each of size.
The finished chest sizes are: 30-5/8", 33-3/4", 36-7/8", 40" and 43-1/8".
This pattern is available for $4.50 and is written in U.S. terms.
