Spinning Strips" is a great quilt pattern. It's a new twist on a traditional pinwheel quilt. I have a nifty little trick to make the pieced pinwheel blocks.Finished quilt measures 62 " x 80"
Complete project would make a wonderful gift.

Materials
I used 7 coordinating fabrics along with a cream fabric for the background. Cotton batting, thread and a flannel backing.
What was your inspiration?
I first made this quilt using batik fabrics from my fabric stash. I just started to cut and sew with an idea in my head and I really liked the results, but I needed more fabric since batik fabrics aren't always 44-45" in width. When I wrote the pattern, I made the quilt again, using 44-45" width fabric in coordinating fabrics and mixed it with a cream background. More of a traditional look then my first 'Spinning Strips' quilt made out of batiks.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a fun project to work on. A jelly roll can be used for the strips, you will need 28 2 1/2" strips total for the quilt. When you work on the quilt, don't worry about your color placement with the strips, the design will all work out in the end!
