Sonja Shawl

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Sonja »

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Outdoorsy, Classic

Materials

handspun yarn made from handdyed samples of merino, cashmere, silk etc.

What was your inspiration?

I collected several fiber samples at a local spinning fair. At home, I dyed them in two different tones of purple. With some predyed merino added, I carded all into a lofty batt. With just 46g, it was clear that it had to be a lace project. After some pondering, I decided on working the shawl in a non-typical way and to emphasize the construction with patterns that form a straight line.

What are you most proud of?

This is the kind of lace pattern that I love - you can work it in any size so you can make the most of a skein!

Your shawl is a lovely pattern and the color is exquisite. Your black and white photo with the shawl in color makes a beautiful, striking presentation.
