Materials

The pattern has instructions for fabric (which is better), but in this project I used ready made bias strips.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use fabric rather than bias strips. Then you will have more accurate measurements.

Love this color combination too. What a great idea to use bias tape. I think I will try that after I finished the first one in fabrics.

Yes, it is a good idea to make one in fabric first so you get the "hang" of it. Be prepared for a bit of "fudging" if you use bias tape as the measurements will not be exactly the same ones as in the pattern. Best of luck :-)
