Grey Upholstery Exterior Fabric, Dark Grey Microsuede Interior, polyester quilt batting, 22" Black/Metal Zipper, Beaded Zipper Pull.

What was your inspiration?

Beautiful soft grey upholstery fabric exterior and equally sumptuous dark grey microsuede lining with pockets.

Without the beaded zipper pull, I'd feel quite comfortable selling this laptop tote to a gentleman.

What are you most proud of?

I'm having great luck finding beautiful upholstery fabric, and amazing microsuedes. It reminds me of a story--shopping with my father. I believe it was the first time Dad and I ever felt "microsuede." As long as I live I'll always remember my Dad trying on the sweater and putting his hand in the sweater pocket lined with microsuede . . . . he said, "feel this, it feels like money." I looked at the price tag $100, and showed him. That was back in the mid 70's. Long story shorten, Dad bought the sweater, and he wore it to his class reunion. He calls his sweater "Fred." Fred has been with Dad a long time--still in his closet.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Color is important, and reflects your personality. But, don't forget about texture--it can make an ordinary piece feel like money!

What a great story! Love the bag, too.
