What was your inspiration?
i kept reading about knitters who unravelled old sweaters etc to reuse the yarn and i do love to repurpose, i happened to have an old knitted skirt in my closet, given to me by the friend. i couldn't wear it, but i loved the soft yarn and decided to see if i could undo it-even by trial and error, i had plenty to make this particular pattern, and enough to make another soon and send it to the friend who gave me the skirt!
What are you most proud of?
that i didnt screw up the unravelling too much, considering i read how to do it AFTER i did it-and the yarn is so well suited to this pattern,!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
the pattern takes some trial and error to understand, this is my 2nd attempt and it went smoother, so i suggest a test run with a sample yarn until you figure out how to knit it-
as for repurposing old knitted items into yarn, do a search and find a tutorial on it, probably better than trrial and error!!
