I've been blogging about this project. For those of you who are fairly experienced sewist, you might be able to use my posts to make your own slipcover!Difficulty:
Category: Sewing
Type of item: Home Decor
For: Home
Style: Traditional, Classic, Whimsical, Funky
Materials
2 1/2 heavy duty drop cloths
What was your inspiration?
I have always wanted to make a slipcover. As a child, I remember my mother re-upholstering our sofas - which looked like a lot of work. But my sister told me that slipcovers weren't all that difficult. She was right.
What are you most proud of?
Just finally biting the bullet and doing it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Read my blog entries about this project. I started with "Courage" because It seems that everyone I talked to said that they were scared to make a slipcover. I think the amount of fabric and the size of the pieces of fabric is what scared them. You can't get hung up on them being perfect...they are slipcovers...they will move!
