What was your inspiration?

My sister gave my daughter a monkey she had made. It was so cute, I wanted to make them too.

What are you most proud of?

How cute they are.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to put a lot of stuffing in the project. The fatter ones are cute too.

Look at " iheartmytho" projects for that pink argyle monkey. "iheartmytho" is the person on this Craftsy site who showed this pattern.

Simplicity patterns had a pattern for monkey clothes a few years ago. The clothes were so cute!!!! It would be nice if someone would design clothes again, since this pattern is not available any more (unless you find it on ebay), The monkeys are really cute if you can find the pink or blue socks. My quilt shop has the pink socks.

Made my daughter's over 30 years ago, now the grandsons have them. Plan on making more now you can get pink and blue socks, wish I had gotten the green when I saw it because I can't find it now.

My Mom made me one years ago, I kept it for years. Yours are so cute, and made so much better, they would make any little boy or girl a great toy. Love them!

I found this frustrating that the pattern is not shown here. Look around on the site, as I found a pattern for monkeys. The picture was of a monkey made from pink argyle socks. These socks are available at your local discount stores (KMart, etc) so you don't have to purchase the brown ones. When I looked for the "red heel socks," like these are made of, I found them expensive. Good luck with the project, Laurel
