Instructions

The instructions for the Sock Blanket are found on Ravelry (and probably other sites) where the item in known as Blankie. It is a series of mitered squares - mine are done with 31 stitches or 61 stitches. I will add a black 1/2 mitered square around the perimeter when I have finally finished the size I want it to be when it grows up!

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Casual

Materials

For the Sock Blanket, I used my stash of sock yarn as well as some new purchases to add more interest and color.

What was your inspiration?

Once I saw pictures of Blankie,at this web site http://www.shellykang.com/all-about-the-blankie I knew I had to make one. I started in early September and am about 50% done at this time. It will eventually be big enough for a queen size bed, so it is larger than Blankie.

What are you most proud of?

The size of the project and that I am sticking with it. Knitting these mitered squares is addictive!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be prepared for it to take over your life (just kidding). The main advice is to have all the yarns laid out on a table top (if possible) as picking the next color will be much easier than rummaging through a bag or box of yarn.

Thank you. It's the most addicting project I've ever done. Hopefully will be done by Thanksgiving..
