Materials

Crochet cotton, size 10, a size 8 (1.50 mm) steel crochet hook, foam core board, plastic wrap, fabric stiffener, paper towel, and rust-proof straight pins. Optional materials: assorted ribbon, jump rings, crystal beads, clear glitter paint, ornament hangers, and small suction cups with hooks.

What was your inspiration?

Snowflakes are my favorite project to make. I love the intricacy of each snowflake and that no two are the same!

What are you most proud of?

I enjoy playing around with the different stitches to see each pattern take shape. The snowflakes are also very versatile: they can be used for gift decorations, ornaments, window hangers, and more.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Snowflakes are a great project for the intermediate crocheter. Be sure to keep track of which step you're on in each of the rounds.
