Would you be willing to share how to put this together, cut the cake pieces etc to fit and how big is this? I have a little girl who wants me to make a smurf cake for her birthday and I love this cake.. Any help would be appreciated.

Dear, as for this project, you have to make the head, body separatly then legs and arms. you should have a dwel inserted in the body so you can attach the head to, the head should be supported by the hands, so you have to make the hands in advance to give them enough time to harden, so the heavy weight from the head won't crash them, assemple all the parts together and let it harden abit little. hopefully this will help you

look the bigger the cake is the more difficult to deal with, so i prefer you make a rectangel cake and make the smurf not more than 30 cm length, first step you make the body, at the shape of an egg, and cover with fondant , make the fondant close at the abdominal part so it won't show because the smurf is laying on his tummy, then make the hands and the legs, after that you have to crump some of the cake mix with butter, same way as cake pops, and press them togather to create the shape of the smurf head, let it freeze to harden, make cover it with fondant, locate the place for eyes nose and mouth, make the hat of the smurf, and you should try to make it as light as possiple so it won't crush the head , the fondnat is very heavy, assemple the smurf togather, insert a dowel in the body and attach the head, let the arms positioned under the chin of the smurf to raise the head , i don't know if this enough for you coz i don't have step by step photos
