Instructions

From the Quick Quilting I Series, Strip Quilting and using charm paks to make these adorable coin bags. I made different sizes, using both charm paks and jelly rolls and all came out different and enjoyable. Thanks

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Casual, Traditional, Cute

Materials

Moda and Robert Kaufman Cotton Pre Cuts

What was your inspiration?

Jenny's tutorial first, then the wonderful selection of fabrics available in pre cuts.

What are you most proud of?

How cute they came out and the diversity you can make with very little adjustments! Really fun project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Grab a charm pack or jelly roll that really excites you and just follow along with the tutorial! One thing, I do use a thin batting for all pieces, even the straps and create "No Baggy Bottoms" with heavy cardboard.

Perfect for me....I am always wanting a tote but don't want the same one over and over...I can have one for the pool, one for my car, one for staying the night with grandkids and one for all my shopping needs, Now i need an idea for a fun, loving tote rack to hang them all on in my backdoor hall way. That will make a nice presentation of all of themtoo. Hmmmmmmmmm......time to get busy, I wondered how I was going to design that long drab hallway to the laundry room and back door..now I know. ty lol

How about a long board about 1" X 4", plane the sharp edges and sand ( if you can do Oak ( hardwood) it will look great.) then use clear poly finish or use a stain then Polyurathane . You could use different Drawer Pulls for the hangers or coat hook type hangers.... just make sure your board is long enough to cover 4 studs in the walls and predrill the small holes for the hangers. if you use drawer pulls they have to screw in from the back and pre drill the holes for the screws to hang board a screw for each stud... get a Carpenter Friend to help.

Instead of the Heavy cardboard, you could use plastic canvas and enclose it in a matching fabric case and it can be taken out when tote is washed. Just a thought.

Thanks for the idea! Did try one, but the bag was too large and needed a heavier bottom, but think it would work great on the smaller totes. ;)
