What was your inspiration?

I made this for the Minnesota Contemporary Quilters challenge "Words of Wisdom"
I used the quote "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other" by Audrey Hepburn
I had my daughter take a picture of my husband and I holding hands and I re-created the photo with fabric, paint and thread much the same as the Painted Pictorial Quilts class I took from this site.

What are you most proud of?

I finished it in time to turn it in at the meeting before the Minnesota Quilt Show. Yeah! It will be part of a traveling exhibit for the next year, than it goes to my husband as his anniversary gift for 31 years of holding onto me.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I made the hands separate and attached them to the background, just in case they didn't come out right the first time.
