Instructions

Currently, this pattern is not for sale. May be in the near future.

This is not a hard project but has a LOT of pieces and time-consuming. Takes approx. 3 hours to make. Must be very organized. I use labels for every pattern piece (16 pieces, not including interfacings).

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Mod, Cute, Preppy, Funky, Casual

Materials

Cotton fabric, fusible fleece, zipper, fusible interfacing, heavy weight interfacing, metal rings and clasps, hook & loop tape, fabric glue

What was your inspiration?

While sitting at a craft show, I saw lots of ladies walking around with a cell phone in one hand and their wallet in another. So, I thought "why not combine the option". So I designed this small purse to have a phone pocket one side and a misc. pocket on the other side. Inside are several card pockets plus a change purse and a larger pocket for bills, notes, etc.

What are you most proud of?

That I was able to design such a complex bag and be able to sell quite a few locally and online. Most of my local sales were by word-of-mouth.

The hardest part of attaching the hook & loop tapes into the exact positions and the purse and pockets close perfectly. This, alone, was a proud moment for me - exact positioning.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

As soon as this pattern is available for sale, the best advice I could give is to stay VERY organized throughout this project. There are so many pieces, and some very close in size, that the smallest mistake would keep your seam ripper busy or the piece unusable. Guess how I know this!!

It's not a hard pattern but does take some patience and focus to put it together in the right order. But, once it's finished, you'll love the results!!!
