What was your inspiration?

Not sure, exactly. Needed a hobby that wasn't a fad or take up too much room. Started noticing yarn at the thrift shop and super cheap, too. My Grandmother taught me to knit & crochet when I was very young. I looked up "how to" on YouTube and the rest is history....started March of 2011 and just can't stop. :)

What are you most proud of?

I am very proud of my slippers. If I don't like the color combo's I pick I just rip it all out and start over with a different combination. Most of my slippers are with 3 strands of yarn. Warmer and more cushion than the typical 2 strand. The orange pair I call "carrot cake slippers" because that is what the colors remind me of.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Whenever you are unsure of something, don't be afraid to rip out everything and do it all over again. It is worth it. I find I cannot finish a project if it doesn't "feel right". :)

Thank you very much for the excellent idea of slippers. Today, a couple of hours tied very pleased - fast, convenient, and you can use the remnants of various yarns.

Yes...you are totally to blame for the masses of yarn taking over my house, the book full of patterns for scarves, shawls, hats, & mitts. However, if my Grammy had not taught me when I was a child, I would not have been as interested. My mother bugged me about learning to make slippers, you found me the proper pattern (cause you are awesome & I suck at surfing the we b). =)
