What was your inspiration?
My sister and I have been working on the design for this for a couple of years. we found the striped fabric in the clearance rack and loved it immediately. I used a pattern for the basic shaping and change a bunch of stuff around to customize it. The original pattern had sleeves, a collar, and a lower neckline. we wanted something that would be more comfortable to wear in the summer. It turned out so well and she got a lot of complements when she wore it.
What are you most proud of?
Getting the stripes to match up and doing the pockets. Pockets are not as simple as they look!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be afraid to change up a pattern to suit your vision.
