Materials

Madelinetosh Merino Light Yarn in worn denim color. That's 100% superwash merino wool, fingering weight. I used one hank of 420 yards plus an additional length for the last half of the shawl edging.

I actually can't believe I made this, mistakes and all. I highly recommend taking ALL of her classes.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use markers and life lines, especially if you're new to lace knitting (like I am). This was my first lace knitting project ever. I could never have done this from a book. Laura Nelkin's craftsy class made this possible for me.

Hi Laura...Was my summary of the edging row numbers correct in the instructions section of this? I wouldn't doubt that my math is wrong, even if my heart is in the right place.....Please feel free to revise this info with a comment here and then I'll revise that post in the project post itself. You are a wonderful teacher! I'm starting another skywalker shawl today, in lace weight, so you've made me fearless.
