Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knit This: Mastering Lace Shawls »

Instructions

Be patient with yourself. Funnily enough it was the very first bit that caused me most problem!!

Lifelines are crucial!!

The course is so good, and Laura is very calm and helpful.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Eco-Friendly, Retro / Vintage, Romantic, Classic

Materials

I am using Wendy "Happy" 4ply. Its a lovely soft silky yarn made of 75% Bamboo and 25% nylon. Colour calls itself Virgo, I am more inclined to call it raspberry ripple!! Easy to work with but does have a slight tendency to split when undone too often!!

What was your inspiration?

Lace in all it forms has always fascinated me, (I used to be a Bobbin lace maker), so when I saw Laura's course on facebook I thought yes this is for me! and I am delighted to say that I am now hooked!

What are you most proud of?

Sticking with it and undoing it several times until I got it right!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be patient with yourself, you learn as much by undoing as by doing!

I think that it would make it harder if any yarn thinner than our English 4ply was used.

Your shawl is beautiful! Thanks for including complete information about the yarn; it is pretty enough that I'm going to look for it.
