The shawl was amazing and it helps to follow the class and not forge ahead. Laura Nelkin is great about explaining each row and building confidence. I would also recommend using a fingering weight yarn on the first shawl.

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by my Mom's birthday.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of finishing just in time for my Mom's birthday and certainly proud of how much she loved it. She shows her Skywalker to all her friends. I will knit Skywalker again for my daughter for Christmas and probably for myself, then we can all have our picture taken with your shawls.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Although I knit this shawl in lace, I recommend knitting it in fingering weight if this is your first shawl project. I have knit many shawls and enjoy this type of knitting so much, that i decided to "brave it". I am thinking of knitting it in fingering weight for myself.
