|Here are some details about my project:|
What was your source for this sewing project?
Online Photo or Website
Your Flipping Link Name of website or photo Simplicity 7513 (c. 1997)
What materials did you use? Cotton, challis, twill, printed gauze. I scoured the remnant and reduced price tables at Hancock and JoAnn Fabric & Crafts.
What are you most proud of? That I figured out that if I lowered the front waist when cutting out the skirt, I didn't have to change the hem so much or have it sag because my waist is not on the same plane in front as in back. I fixed it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Pick fabrics that you have shirts to match, and more than one per skirt. Goodwill's a great source. This is a simple, elastic waist pattern that relies on your fabric choice and personality for any style it may have. Look on this garment as a blank slate. Choose fabric to make it dressy or casual or anything in between.
