What materials did you use? Another version of my Skeleton leaf. This time based on a Midland Hawthorn. Like common hawthorn, Midland hawthorn is ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens, where its dense, thorny cover makes it suitable for hedging and provides good nesting sites for a whole range of small birds. In April and May it produces white, occasionally pink or red, flowers and it has attractive glossy, dark green leaves. In autumn, plentiful haws provide bright colour and a source of winter food for resident birds and winter visitors. The leaf is made using various gauges of copper wire, wrapped and woven together to form the intricate detail. I have used 4mm Unakite beads both on the pendant and the handmade chain. The pendant is 1 7/8" tall including the woven bail and 1 1/8" at it's widest pint. The chain is 16" long including the hook clasp.

I love your copper work - they are beautiful!! How to do you stop the copper from discolouring and leaving a green a stain on your skin?? :)

Thank you for your comment Vic. All metals will discolour with time if they are not cleaned. I reduce the effect with copper by cleaning it with a mild detergent and a soft nylon brush once I have finished making it and then polishing it with a gold polishing cloth which has been impregnated with an anti tarnish agent, this greatly reduces the discolouring process ;)
