What was your inspiration?
The bride & groom for this wedding wanted a sweet and simple day in the beautiful picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains in October. So being the nature lover that she was, the bride simply asked if I could do a white cake with little leaves falling down the side of it like she had seen in a picture. She was haveing a large amount of people and wanted to know if i could do some cupcakes to go along with it, and if I had ever sone any type of sheescake - well I was all about CHEESECAKE - yum! So I tired to stick to her request and make a sweet & simple confectionary display for her. As for the cheesecake, well that was a fmaily recipe that I used with a little tweaking (of course - I couldn't help it) and the bride asked if I had every seen the heart swirl before, although I had not seen that in particular, I thought I could figure that one out :o)! All went well and she said it was a huge hit! Awesome!
What are you most proud of?
The cheesecake actually, it was sooooo yummy!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you are trying to do a large order of cupcakes for someone or even yourself, I would recommend to let them cool COMPLETELY (if you try to package them up in an air tight container while they are still warm, then the cupcake liners have a tendency to pull apart from the cupcake - you don't want that ) SOOO, when they are cool and ready to be packaged into an air tight container, they will last longer. ALSO, if you are doing the cheesecake thing - make sure you have proper containers to keep them from sliding around and really KEEP THEM COOL FOR TRAVEL! Rubber matt liners are good and also the slicky wrap on the bttom of the container sticks pretty well and gives the wrappers a little more to hold onto and not slide around as much. Smushy cheesecake is not yummy...well, I'd eat it, but it's not pretty for a customer!
