What was your inspiration?
This sun dress was a gift I made for my wife. Took 4 hrs to complete. Zipper was the most difficult part--I hate zippers :) I lengthened the dress 2" to end just below the knee and left off the 2" band around the top of the dress as well as the interfacing and piping to give the dress a cleaner casual feel. I also added natural stone buttons to the ends of the straps.
What are you most proud of?
Just happy she likes it :) I like the way the bust line came out and the overall smooth flow of the design.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
You can keep it simple, it's a sun dress, but don't be afraid to get creative, add lace to the bottom hem or a simple ribbon to the waist. This pattern is basic and works well with or without your own adjustments.
