What materials did you use? Cotton jersey (single layer, 3 yards), button & craft thread, and mettler cordonnet for topstitching. This is a test garment. Next time I will modify the pattern removing the excess that creates the 'billowy' effect at the back hem.

Really nice! It is so helpful to see this made up pre-embellishment. But I can't wait to see your next or final embellished version. Please tell me what color fabric this is -- is it from Alabama Chanin? Is it medium weight? Thanks!!

Thanks :) It's a medium weight cotton jersey with just a little touch of spandex. The color is dark gray with I guess something like ink/indigo/purssian blue in it, hard to describe. I purchased it at my local fabric store that each week has a huge piles of fabrics delivered from NY - all sorts of fabric, some cuts still have a stickers with the dealer info. I guess leftovers from showrooms, sample rooms etc. Store sells it at $2.99/yard. I still have couple of yards of this fabric left, bought it to be a muslin fabric to test a project before I order from AC. That organic cotton must be so nice to work with, can't wait.

thanks for the info! great idea to try first with that much-less-expensive fabric. but a lot of sewing!!

That is beautiful - your topstitching is gorgeous. Is that thread thicker than the button and craft thread, or did you use multiple strands?

Thank you, Dr. Fun :) The available button & craft thread colors did not match my fabric so I kept looking for a thread to topstitch this. Found Mettler Cordonnet thread at local fabric store. The color matched perfectly! The Mettler Cordonnet feels thicker/fluffier than bc thread so I used a single strand. I hope the thread will not shrink or something once I wash my jacket. But it should not since it is a polyester thread.
