What materials did you use? I used a 100% Cotton Knit long sleeve black T Shirt. The area of stitching was first stabilised with iron on polymesh stabiliser I then attached the shirt to a sticky back stabiliser in a larger size hoop with a window cut in the stabiliser. I placed the wash away stabiliser over the window area ensuring it was well secured and ensuring it was at least 1/2"over the edges of the window. Marked my cross hairs on the stabiliser and stuck the shirt to the sticky back stabilser lining up the cross hairs on stabiliser and shirt. Used Kingstar silver thread for the base stitching of the design followed with a black 40wt madiera thread. Also used silver-grey organza under the cut away design.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? In future I would use a matching bobbin thread if using black. Not for the novice, takes time and practice. Stitch a test design first on the same fabric and using the same stabilisers and thread.
