This cute cow started out as a styrofoam ball. I put a skewer through the ball and coat the ball with precious metal clay paste until it is well coated and starts to feel heavy. What was your inspiration?
I used to make cakes out of a round cake pan and one of them was a cow. I love using styrofoam balls to create different animals and things. So far I have made a pig and a pumpkin using this technique.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make sure you use enough precious metal clay paste to coat the ball. If it's too thin it will collapse when fired.
