What materials did you use? Raw silk as main fabric, China silk for lining. The pattern is a burdastyle pattern and this was part of a sew along as well.

What are you most proud of? That I could finish it - although I have been working on it so long I really need a break even looking at it! And Katrina's class was instrumental to have those princess seams sewed well (they came out really nice!) as well as to sew the shoulder pads there....

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I had issues with the lining. It is the first time I sew a lined jacket, and basically I have figured out that it is better to cut the lining a bit longer than the fabric next time - I have places where the lining pulls slightly on the fabric. Also, the fit is not perfect. If I did it again, I would probably go one size smaller at least....

I love this. You did a beautiful job, the color, the stitching, and the fit.

Valeria - it turned out so well! Way to go - it looks fabulous. And I totally understand the concept of "needing a break" after finishing a garment. I have a few that I definitely felt that way...wanted to park them in the closet for a bit until the stress of making them went away. Again - way to go - thanks so much for posting it!

thank you so much! :-) I am off to shirts now as my son's and husband's wardrobe are desperately calling me... and I was amazed at how much easier it is to make a shirt than a lined jacket! I guess I have not discovererd anything new... and again thanks for your courses, I am visiting them very regularly, they are extremely helpful!!!!!
