What advice would you give someone starting this project? Once you see the repeats in the lace pattern you no longer need the chart.

Wow! Looks so lovely. I have 2 questions. I am working with some scrap yarn and I wanted to make mine slightly wider too. How did you figure out the formula to widen your so evenly. But before I get to that point I am stuck on the first half dozen teeth then I make a mistake and rip it all out. How is a life line made??? I want to make this scarf so badly and I won't give up. I have the pattern memorized with all my starts and restarts. Currently my needles are sadly empty. The LYS is closed till Tuesday.

Sorry that I did not see your questions sooner, Kathryn. Hopefully you already have the answers from your LYS. I did not use any formula - just an extra YO on each purl row. I also allowed myself some leeway in mistake-making. Since I knew the row stitch count for each tooth, if I came out with more or fewer stitches, I just did an inc or k2tog to compensate within the tooth.

Smart girl you are.. I figured out for my self how to make and use the life lines. I usually have to verbalized or write out my dumb sounding question and then the solution seems to hit me and I get it. I'm progressing on the scarf slowly but it's comming out pretty well. And thank you for your response.
