I used some of the techniques Pam taught us (front and back darts, flat felled seams, top stitching). Although it's exaggerated with my left arm up to take the picture (you can still see it on my right), there's something going on with the pulling from the bust to the underarm and shoulder. Since this is only my second try at this (the first one I already took apart, since I made it an 18 and it was too big / this one is a 14), I don't know how to figure out what's causing fitting issues (quilts are soooo much easier, since they don't have to fit). Any advice for the next top would be greatly appreciated! Pam, thank you so much for a wonderful class! I couldn't have even tried this without you!

Hello! Great top, and very nice fabric and print. Since you like more fitted tops, you may try to find a pattern with a bust dart as well as the others in fron and back, or one with princess seams (more opportunities for fit where you need it) Please don't give up, you don't have far to go to get the fit you desire :-)) So glad you enjoyed the class, and I hope to see your next shirt with the new design lines or added darts :-))

Thank you! I've now posted some new pics. Now that I can see the back, I'm wondering if I should take out the back darts. I like your idea about an added bust dart. I posted my 1st attempt at this shirt under "40 Techniques Every Sewer Should Know," before I took your class, but that one I made 2 sizes too big, based on the measurements I took a while back. That shirt is now in pieces and recut to the smaller size. Should I add a bust dart to it and leave out the back darts for a better fit? I've also been looking for a pattern with princess seams, since I love that look.

I'm trying to figure out why my new pics got distorted, when I uploaded them, but you can still tell what I mean about the back.

I was able to get the photos uploaded correctly.

Y The fit of your shirt is not far off at all. I would keep the back darts, but it looks like the bodice could be shortened a bit between the shoulder blades and waist. Sandra Betzina's Fast Fit book is a great one to have. Can't wait to see your next shirt! Thanks for sticking with it.

Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely look into the fitting book.
