Materials

Bright and perfect Batiks for applique and blocks.

What was your inspiration?

Idea came from Artist Lu Anne Feazle's beautiful painted Panels for this project..still on order and available for those who prefer to use panels versus appliqued images. Lu's painted panels are beautiful and literally a piece of art.
See project on our website at www.robinsquiltnest.net

What are you most proud of?

Robin's ability to create layouts for innovative blocks, using a wide variety of techniques from flying geese, triangle cuts, and paper piecing. Together as a team, we work very well together in creating duplicatable fiber art wall hangings and quilts for all ages and interests.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Learn a paper piecing class first for the the 'Kickin' it with Crab Louie' block. Use the 'coolest' of Batik for all critters and fish. Use matching thread color for each applique.

The entire quilt is spectacular, but the pieced crabs are definitely my favorite.
