Sewing: Short House Coat

Short House Coat

Spring House Coat.

Spring House Coat.

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing Studio: Fashion Fitting, Home Decor & More »

Instructions

This was made with a pattern in Diana Rupp's book Sew Everything Workshop. It was supposed to be a spring jacket but I turned it into a housecoat with the material and colours I choose. It's so super comfy and surprisingly light weight which is great with spring here.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual

Materials

Sweatpant Fleece, double bias tape and thread

What was your inspiration?

I just started to learn how to sew again (for the 4th time in my life...;) I wanted to start out with an easy piece.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud that I completed it and I am actually able to use it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a great project for beginners.

I used a size 14 needle and just all purpose thread. If you use sweat pant fleece, it's very light so it sews easily.

I love it! Did you use a special needle or thread for sewing the fleece? The last time I tried to sew fleece my machine had a fit.

What a great idea! I was just telling my husband I need a lightweight robe for the summer. I'm going to borrow your idea and try this.
