What materials did you use? Plastic grocery bags from our local grocery store.

What are you most proud of? This bag was a special order from a lady in CA. I did not have a pattern and made it up as I went.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Patience, plastic is not easy to crochet with.

I find it's easiest to crochet plastic with an aluminum hook - it glides easier. Also, you can take a (used) drier sheet (fabric softener sheet) and rub your hook with it for more lubrication. Great job on the bag, it's beautiful!!!

Aww, thank you so much for your tips and comments. I do use an aluminum hook, just never thought to put anything on it.

I love this project! I love the fact that you recycled the plastic grocery sacks. Do you have the pattern for sale? I would love to make myself one. Thanks for posting!

Oh Kaismine, thank you so much. I am so sorry, I did not use a pattern. I made this one up as I went. I just crocheted the front and back squares, then the sides to measure the same height as front and back and guessed as to the width of what I wanted. Then I crocheted the bottome to match. I did lay out out brown paper shopping bag to use as a pattern. I could visualize what I wanted and the brown bag helped me achieve what I wanted. I then crocheted it together with a backwards single crochet. I am willing to help you in any way I can.

Kaismine, did you attempt to crochet this bag?
