What are you most proud of? I like things to have a function so to turn a 12" patchwork block into a pillow makes me happy. But I am as proud of the back of my pillows as I am of the front since learning how to make a zipped pillow back so easily (check out the free covered-zip-pillow-back tutorial by Amy made That). Putting in a zip in has never been so easy and I love the co-ordinating zip cover - so, so easy to do.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The secret to perfect points is accurate cutting and stitching. If you do not have a 1/4" foot for your sewing machine you could mark the seam allowances onto the WRONG side of your patches prior to sewing and then make sure you stitch along the line. The pattern includes making half-square triangle units that are bigger than you need, that you trim down, so that you do not have to worry about being a little bit amiss when constructing the half-squares. Do not worry if your points don't match exactly - the cushion will still look good and this pattern is about having fun with fabrics whilst learning how to pin and stitch accurately. Also, you don't have to make a cushion/pillow - this cushion top would make a lovely little table topper. So have fun with it and check out the web link in the pattern details to see some other combinations.
