The center colored piece is one long strip so there weren't a lot of ends to match when you start another block.. And I made it on long strips of batting, then joined the strips together. I loved the design, and plan to use it again. This is for my daughter-in-law's birthday this month. It is a "throw" size. Thanks for the great design!!Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
Ilene Roche's class, the Embroidered Quilt, the quilting designs, and the chance to use my new Enterprise 10-needle machine. Also, I took out the squiggles in the checkerboard because they wouldn't show up on this fabric anyway. It was a real challenge to match the blocks in one long strip. But after about 3 blocks, I decided to make the whole strip in one piece.
What are you most proud of?
Figuring out how to use a long strip of colored fabric, instead of making individual blocks. Also how to make changes in the design itself with my digitizing program. (Taking out the squiggles in the checkerboard)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Go for it !! You can do it by following the class, or make it more special by personalizing it.
