Shaggy Embroidered Baby Quilt

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Shaggy or Rag Quilt

Instructions

This pattern is available on multiple quilt sites on the internet and can be found thru Google or any other search engine. I added my own touch with the embroidered animals in variegated thread. I found the pink homespun fabric while shopping, and couldn't resist, since i seldom see pastels in homespun.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Traditional, Cute, Casual

Materials

Pink and White Plaid Homespun Cotton Fabric with soft and natural cotton batting

What was your inspiration?

Pink is my favorite color and I love the softness and fluffiness of a shaggy quilt. I added the embroidered animals as a special touch. Just looks very feminine.

What are you most proud of?

The finished quilt just seemed like the perfect cover for a little girl.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you can sew, you can make this quilt. Go for it.

Lovely material and I wish my machine could embroider.

This was sandwiched first because it it outline or "Redwork" embroidery. However, If I had been doing solid embroidery, I would have embroidered first and then sandwiched. Thanks for your interest.

Did you sandwich all the material together and then embroider it or did you just embroider on the top fabric??

This looks really cute. Too bad the embroidery doesn't show up better in the picture.
