Shadow box of baby clothes

Twin girls' dresses in shadow box

Twin girls' dresses in shadow box
Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional, Victorian / Steampunk

Materials

Purchased shadow box. Chosen baby clothes. Decorative pins. Optional decorative small stars, background decor papers, etc. for embellishments.

What was your inspiration?

Baby clothes laying around not being 'preserved' in time.

What are you most proud of?

The layout and end result of course. Seeing the beautiful clothes everyday and knowing they aren't dust catchers.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't cram a lot of clothes in one shadow box. Be simple with your design. I just happen to have twin girls (who are now twenty one) with grandma's identical clothes. I kept this one! Don't get an overpowering shadow box for the contents. I think mine almost could have been but there was just so much froo-froo- inside that the black frame had met it's match.

Love this - very nice layout and composition. I have baby clothes, 1st communion, & wedding veils from many generations of my family. Seeing your project has inspired me to frame them and display them along with the family photos. Thank you for sharing this beautiful project!
