What materials did you use? I used a poly taffeta with flocked scottie dogs that I have had in my stash for about 15 years. I intended to make my daughter a Christmas dress from this fabric that many years ago. This skirt is even more perfect and timeless. Zipper and horse hair for the hem to add fullness= fun! I also found a vintage crinoline slip and a vintage sweater to complete her outfit.

What are you most proud of? This is a skirt variation for the bombshell dress that I wanted to try. I do think that a corset like top would be great with this skirt, maybe next Christmas. I opted to put in a back zipper vrs. the side zipper and I added pockets because who can have a full skirt and no where to put your lip gloss!!! I like not having to follow a pattern all the time so this is what I was most proud of.

Hi Judy, thank you for such nice words, I have been sewing on and off for years, but I recently started sewing for myself again after a long hiatus! I have learned so much from the craftsy platform and continue to learn. Mostly I find that I need not be confined to a pattern so I am much more willing to change the pattern to fit my needs or my creative whims! I found the petticoat on ebay. I kept searching until I found the right fullness and length. I have seen your dress for the couture class and it was beautiful. You do great work. You will make a great dirndle (it is pretty easy), and the lederhosen will be fun. I would love to see them when you decide to make them. Happy sewing. Kim

where did you find the Dirndl petticoat ? Or did you make that too ? Because my goal in life is to make a full Dirndl and Lederhosen too.
