100% cotton for the underlining, fashion fabric, and lining. I shirred the entire back of the bodice for more comfort. i also made a small tie that I can pin on at the gathered part of the drape to make it appear more like a sarong.
What was your inspiration?
Alfred Shaheen and Whirling Turban dresses.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of the bodice, specifically the 3 part cups. It took a lot of trial and error on the bodice cups. My upper bust measurement is so small I can't find a dress form small enough, however I am full busted. Thankfully I have my muslin as my pattern so i can make this again and again.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time. It took me several months, 5 to be exact. When I got tired or frustrated I stopped where I was and came back to it another day.
