What was your inspiration?
I wanted to make something I would wear as an every day item, rather than just for special occasions. I like the print as it's pretty without being too twee. The cotton fabric makes it very comfortable for warm weather too.
What are you most proud of?
That I finished it! I am new to dressmaking and usually find I have lost hope before I have finished. Learning how to do each stage properly really helped me keep focussed and feel I could do a good job.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I found watching each video before I started really helped. I would also say buy the best fabric you can afford to. The cotton I used for the main fabric was cheap and unfortunately it shows. It still takes the same amount of effort to make the dress so I wish I had invested in better fabric.
