Instructions

The Elmo and Cookie Monster were created 2 days before with Gum Paste. I made them look furry by using small scissors to "pick" at thier coats. These are by far the easiest I've had to do. The crayons were the coolest to me. I created them out of Gum paste and used a printer to created edible wrappers. Everything is hand-molded. It's amazing what you can do with just your hands.

Fondant, Gum paste, Strawberry Cake, Vanilla Cake, Cream Cheese Buttercream, Chocolate Ganache

What was your inspiration?

The client sent me two cakes. One had the figures but were made of plastic and candle crayons and the other had the colors she wanted.

What are you most proud of?

This was one of the coolest cakes I have made. I loved Elmo but I also like the crayons, They look so real.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make the figures well in advanced and I would suggest making the bottom cake just a bit bigger to hold up Cookie Monster.
