What was your inspiration?
I love the combination of gnomes and animals to needle felt. I make the gnomes and see who they are before deciding on the rest of the project. This one needed to be riding something. The turtle was the natural next step.
What are you most proud of?
Getting the gnome to stay put on top of the turtle! That was harder than I expected!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Needle felting is the most forgivable art form but there always comes a point, in every project, where I feel like it's never going to turn out and I consider trashing it. I have learned that this is just a particular stage in my crafting and I have to push through it.
