I was not in love with the Cleopatra's Puzzle Block and I saw people in the class rearrange the pieces to make this Ninja Star Block. I was sold! So here is my attempt.

Love your BOM for Sept, can you give me any good pointers.....have spent 3 days getting my two block done for Sept & still had to adjust the size down to a 10 1/2" block because the pieces would only sq to a 3" not a 3 1/2". Yours are perfect, pointers (love the Black & White, so sharp) Thanks

Sew a very scant 1/4 inch (mine was probably more like 1/8). I found that because I was sewing curve-on-curve the block was slightly warped after ironing. Then square up the little blocks. That was my only trick. I would check to see if your pattern was true to size when you printed it. Maybe it ran a bit small. And I also made my own template because I was not patient enough to wait to have one shipped from online ordering. I printed the own from Amy and traced it onto thick scrap of plexi. Then I cut it out on my scroll saw and sanded the edges so they were not sharp. I was able to get perfectly cut pieces. I hope you try again or add a border to your block. :) Good luck!

Thanks Ann, will be adding a backround border to even out the blocks, but like your idea about using a scant 1/4", that may be the salution! Will go back to this block again, can't stand a failure....LOL.

I like the black and white that you're using. I'm not crazy about Cleopatra's Puzzle either. I'm opting to turn mine into a block called Fool's Puzzle.
