I made my own templates. I traced around the templates on the fabric squares instead of using a rotary cutter. I cut them out with scissors. I used fine grain sandpaper under the fabric as I traced to keep the fabric from slipping or stretching.Difficulty:

I use home made templates to save money because I did not know if I would like the fussiness of this block.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Use very scant 1/4 inch seams. Trace carefully if you make your own templates
