What was your inspiration?
I was asked to make something sweet to serve at a memorial gathering for Mike. Mike had a huge garden and donated to the local food pantry. He hosted troubled people who really needed some understanding and purpose, they worked side by side with him. He loved to work in the dirt and the sun. He was ( and is) missed.
What are you most proud of?
Everyone who saw these, said - Mike would love these. I used real terra cotta pots, the cupcake lifted out so that people could peel off the paper. I made mini seed packets with a message printed on the back - asking people to take the pot and seeds home to start their own seedling. There were so many sad faces at the event, and the corner where the cupcakes stood was a spot with smiles and the happy memories of helping in his garden, eating at his table, or carrying donations with him.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't over think the little leaves. The beauty of nature is in the differences. :)
