Purchased a panel of sea scenes with lighthouses and fussy cut it. Added strips and borders to contrast and tell a 'story'.
What was your inspiration?
I bought the panel and cut it up. Used the lighthouses in the corners, then used fabric to show the sky, leading down to the sand then finally the sea with the waves at the bottom.....fussy cut squares from the panel to use on the back of the quilt and backed it in warm flannel.
Bound in blue and borders in blue and gold - the sea and the sun! Stippled in a stars and swirls design by Missouri Quilt Co who are the best and only ones I will allow to touch my works of art!
What are you most proud of?
That it worked out! Had to do some figuring for the fabric...usually I use pre cuts but this one was different....just love the final result and especially the panels across the back.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
